Bulutegra Glossary Days of cover

What is Days of cover?

An estimate of how many days the current stock will last at the recent rate of sale. It turns a quantity into a decision: the same forty units can be a whole season's cover for a slow product and a couple of days for a fast one. Velocity is taken from all connected channels together, since a product that is quiet on one may be selling steadily on another. It is the number to look at before a campaign, when the question is not whether you have stock but whether you have enough to last the event.
