How to Read a Trendyol Settlement Report Line by Line
A line-by-line guide to the Trendyol settlement report: sales, commission, shipping, returns and penalty lines, why payouts come up short, and how to reconcile.
A Trendyol settlement report shows, for one payment period, what Trendyol collected on your behalf, what it deducted, and what it paid out to you. To read it properly you look not at the total but at how four things build up order by order: sales amount, deductions, returns and net payout. This guide walks through the report line by line and shows how to find money that never arrived. If you are new to the marketplace, start with our Trendyol integration overview first.
What the report tells you, and what it does not
The settlement report is not an accounting document; it is an account statement. Trendyol holds the money it collects from your buyers, deducts its charges at fixed intervals and transfers the remainder to your bank account. The report is the breakdown of that calculation.
It tells you which orders entered payment, what was deducted from each and which returns were applied. It does not tell you your cost of goods, your margin or what shipping actually cost you. The report is Trendyol's view; it only becomes useful when combined with your own.
Timing matters too. An order placed today does not enter settlement until delivery, the return window and the payment calendar have all passed, so a month's sales and that month's settlement never line up one to one.
The first rule: never read the report from the total. The total says "this much came in", but never why.
The main columns
Column names vary between report versions; the grouping below is by content.
Identity columns
- Order and package number. Trendyol tracks everything by package; two packages from one order appear as two lines.
- Barcode and product name. Tells you which product was paid. The barcode is the link to your own system.
- Transaction date and payment period. The order date and the settlement period differ; an order enters payment only after the post-delivery waiting period.
Amount columns
- Sales amount. The VAT-inclusive price the customer paid. If a campaign discount applied, the discounted amount appears here.
- Commission. Calculated per category according to your current contract. Rates change, so verify the current value in your Trendyol agreement.
- Shipping charge. Since you ship through Trendyol's contracted carriers, carriage is deducted from you, based on volumetric weight and destination.
- Service and platform fees. Fixed deductions per item or per order; small alone, they add up across hundreds of orders.
- Net settlement. Sales amount minus all deductions.
Adjustment columns
- Return amount. For approved returns, the money refunded to the customer is deducted from you.
- Commission credit. The commission on the returned item comes back to you, usually as a separate line.
- Penalties and deductions. Extra charges for late shipment, failure to supply, wrong item and similar cases.
A step-by-step reading method
Work in this order; it puts the most error-prone points first.
- Pin down the period. Note the date range and the payout date. You will compare it against the "delivered" dates in your own system.
- Count the lines. How many packages are in the report? Compare with the number of packages your records show as delivered in the same window. A gap means missing packages.
- Verify gross sales. Compare the sales column total with your own invoice totals. Campaign discounts cause differences here; check the contract to see whether Trendyol or you funded the discount.
- Check commission by product group. You know the rate for each category, so you can recompute it per line. Flag any line that deviates.
- Match shipping charges to volumetric weight. A higher-than-expected shipping deduction usually points to a wrong dimension declaration.
- Split the returns into two lists. Every return line should have a matching commission credit line. List the ones that do not; they need follow-up.
- Match penalties to reasons. Every penalty line has a package and a justification. If you disagree, raise a claim within the objection window.
- Compare net total to the bank statement. The report's net total and the amount that landed in your account should be identical. If not, either the report is incomplete or there is an additional deduction.
The three most common discrepancies
The same three problems come up again and again in practice.
Missing settlement
The package was delivered, there is no return, yet the payment line never appears in any period. This usually happens when delivery confirmation reaches Trendyol late or one part of a split order is skipped. The only way to find it is to match every delivered package to a payment line.
Returns without a commission credit
The item came back, the sales amount was deducted, but the commission was never credited: you have the goods back and you paid commission on a sale that did not happen. Because the return and the credit can land in different periods, check across two periods before raising a claim.
Orders that go negative
When deductions exceed the sales amount, the order closes at a loss; on low-priced items, shipping and fixed fees do this easily. Listing these orders by product shows which items are not worth selling on Trendyol. We cover the mechanics in how marketplace commissions and deductions are calculated.
The only way to say "the report is clean" is to see everything that happened to each package on one line: sold, deducted, returned, commission credited, paid.
Making reconciliation routine
If you leave the report check to month end, you will be wrestling with hundreds of lines. Pull settlement data automatically every period and match it to your order records instead; reconciliation then becomes a weekly look at a handful of exceptions.
A checklist for that routine:
- Every period's report is downloaded automatically when it is published.
- Every line is linked to your own order record by package number and barcode.
- Unmatched lines fall into a separate list: missing, return without credit, negative order.
- Every exception gets a status, a claim number and a note.
- Exceptions that are not closed reappear in the next period.
The general logic is in settlement and commission reconciliation, and the metrics you can derive from these reports are in marketplace performance reports and KPIs.
How it works with Bulutegra
Bulutegra pulls Trendyol settlement data through the Trendyol API each period and links every line, by package number, to the order record in your Integration Panel. The settlement and reconciliation screen separates the three exceptions on its own: missing settlement, returns without commission credit and orders that went negative. You attach a status, a claim number and a note to each; open items come back in the next period. The profitability page uses the same data to show what each product really contributes on Trendyol after VAT, return risk and commission. A team member with the Accounting role sees only these screens.
Setup follows the four-step onboarding; in shadow mode the system only reads at first, and you grant write access once the numbers match. To see how we compare your Trendyol settlement against your own data, request a demo.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I download the Trendyol settlement report?
In the Trendyol Seller Panel, under the finance and settlement section, you pick a payment period and export it. The same data is also available through the Trendyol API, so if you use an integration platform the report lands in your panel automatically and gets matched to your order records. Menu names change from time to time, so check Trendyol's current seller help pages for the exact path.
Why is my Trendyol payout lower than my sales total?
The payout is what remains after commission, shipping charges, service fees, refunded returns and any penalties are deducted from gross sales. Orders that have not yet entered the payment period also do not appear. To understand the gap you have to open the report at order level and match every deduction to the order it belongs to.
Does Trendyol refund the commission on returned items?
As a rule, the commission on an approved return is credited back as a separate line in a later period. But the return and the commission credit can fall into different periods, and in some cases the credit never shows up. Matching each return line to its commission credit line is the single most important reconciliation step.
