Import Marketplace Reviews to Your Own Store
How to show the product reviews your customers wrote on Amazon, Trendyol or eBay on your own store: Review Import, SKU matching, privacy and publishing rules.
Importing marketplace reviews to your own store means collecting the product reviews your customers wrote on Amazon, eBay, Trendyol, Etsy or other channels and displaying them on the same product's page in your own store. That requires matching each review to a product by SKU or barcode, removing personal data, and publishing the review in a format your store platform accepts. Bulutegra's Review Import module handles those three jobs from one panel; this article explains both the problem and the flow.
The problem: reviews pile up on marketplaces while your store stays empty
For most multi-channel sellers, the majority of orders come from marketplaces. The natural result: a product has hundreds of reviews on Amazon while the same product's page in your own store has none. A visitor who lands on your store sees an empty review section and goes back to the marketplace to decide. There you stand next to your competitors and pay commission on the sale.
This loop makes it hard to grow your own store. Even if you drive traffic with ads or social media, the product page cannot tell the buyer "other people bought this and were happy". That information already exists, written by your own customers; it is just sitting in the wrong place.
Why reviews matter
Reviews answer the buyer's questions in someone else's voice: does it run large or small, is the color like the photo, is the fabric thin, did the box arrive intact? No matter how well the product description covers these points, it comes from the seller and is therefore less convincing. A review provides the same information from a source with no stake in the sale.
The second benefit is content. Real users writing in their own words add phrases you would never think of; contexts such as "bought it for a wedding" or "ordered for my mother" only appear in reviews. We covered how content affects sales in product content and quality score; reviews are the part of that content your customers write for you.
Three obstacles to importing reviews
Copying reviews by hand looks easy at first, but there are three obstacles:
- Matching. The product identifier on the marketplace is not the identifier in your store. For a review to land on the right product and the right variant, SKU or barcode mapping must already be in place. The structure described in product matching with SKUs and barcodes is the foundation here too.
- Personal data. Reviews contain customer names, sometimes a city or a photo. Publishing these as they are creates privacy problems under GDPR and similar rules; names must be shortened and photos and other identifying data removed.
- Continuity. Reviews are not moved once; new ones arrive every day. Manually copied reviews go stale within weeks and the store starts looking empty again.
Each obstacle can be handled on its own, but with hundreds of products and several channels, the work cannot be done by hand.
How Review Import works
Bulutegra's Review Import module uses the channel connections and product mappings already set up in the Integration Panel. It needs no separate setup; as soon as your products are matched to channels, reviews land on the right products. The flow runs like this:
- Product reviews on connected channels are read through your seller account.
- Each review is linked to your product via the SKU and barcode mapping from the marketplace's product identifier; variant information is preserved where available.
- The customer name is shortened; review text and rating are kept, identifying data is not published.
- You choose which channels' and which products' reviews go live, and you can hold back any review you do not want shown.
- Approved reviews are pushed to your store's product page and refreshed as new reviews arrive.
The module works with the store platforms Bulutegra already connects to, including Shopify, WooCommerce, ikas, Ticimax, T-Soft and İdeasoft. You set the refresh frequency and the product scope from the panel.
Marketplace rules on using review content can change over time. Before turning on the import, read the relevant marketplace's current seller agreement and review policy; if anything is unclear, ask the support team.
What to check before publishing
How you display reviews matters as much as importing them. Go through this checklist before switching the import on:
- Is the source channel shown on the product page? The buyer should know the review was written elsewhere.
- Are negative reviews published too? Five-star-only pages create suspicion rather than trust.
- Is the average rating shown per channel or combined? Whichever you choose, be consistent.
- Are reviews with inappropriate language or personal information filtered out?
- Do variant-specific reviews (a size comment, for example) appear on the right variant?
- Are your seller replies imported as well? A complaint that looks unanswered hurts the page.
The negative review item in particular should not be skipped. A buyer who reads a warning about sizing or shipping orders more deliberately, and that kind of information helps reduce returns and customer questions. For another tool working on the same principle, see reducing returns with Size Finder.
Where else reviews are useful
Imported reviews do not have to stay on the product page. Frequently repeated phrases can improve the product description; when many reviews say "runs small", it is time to add a note to the size chart or adjust the size recommendation. Reviews also help with customer questions: if the same question keeps coming, a customer has probably already written the answer. We covered that flow separately in marketplace Q&A and customer messages.
Reviews are also a product development signal. A recurring complaint about one variant gives you concrete grounds for a quality check or a supplier conversation. To see that signal, reviews need to be gathered per product in one place rather than scattered across channels; that is a side benefit of Review Import.
How it works with Bulutegra
Review Import is one of Bulutegra's add-on modules and attaches to the Integration Panel. Because channel connections and SKU mapping are already in place, reviews land on the right product without separate matching; personal data is cleaned, you choose which reviews go live, and your store stays current as new reviews arrive. See the module's scope under Solutions; to look at which of your products have no reviews on your own store, request a demo.
Frequently asked questions
Can I show my Amazon or Trendyol reviews on my own website?
Technically, reviews you can access through your seller account can be displayed on your own product pages, provided each review is matched to the right product by SKU or barcode. Check the marketplace's current seller terms for rules on using review content, and shorten customer names before publishing.
Does importing reviews help my store's search visibility?
Real customer text enriches a product page, but the effect on search rankings varies by product, sector and site structure. For a measurable answer, compare your page metrics before and after the import yourself.
Should I import negative reviews too?
Showing only positive reviews damages trust and breaks consumer law in several jurisdictions. Filter out reviews with inappropriate language or personal data, then publish the rest with their ratings; the result is both more honest and more useful to the buyer.
