Stock keeping unit: the code you assign to tell products apart inside your own business. Red in size 38 and red in size 39 are two SKUs, because they are counted and sold separately. Every mapping the integration builds rests on this code, so a product must never carry two of them, and a retired code must never be reused for something else. Keep codes short, stable when the product title changes, and free of spaces and accented characters; some marketplace panels truncate or reject long or unusual ones. See matching products by SKU and barcode.
