The official connection a marketplace or an ERP exposes so other systems can read orders and write stock and prices. It is the alternative to a person copying values between portals, and the difference is not only speed: a write through an API reports back whether it succeeded. Access keys are issued from your own seller panel and belong to your account, not to the integrator. An API is also the honest limit of any integration, since a channel allows only what its own interface allows, and it can slow down or stop answering.
